A useful fit for

A household that needs two camera positions and side-by-side video on one dedicated Parent Unit, with an optional app path and local operation independent of Wi-Fi.

The main tradeoff

Split-screen video is documented, but simultaneous two-room audio and maximum camera capacity are not; both cameras need mains adapters and Parent Unit runtime is unspecified.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Do two camera pictures need to remain visible at once on a dedicated local screen?

The exact two-camera RM5764-2HD set has a split-screen mode on its Parent Unit and also works in Direct mode without home Wi-Fi. The guide does not establish simultaneous audio from both rooms.

Would remote phone check-ins and camera movement help, but with three included views not required?

The exact kit includes two cameras and supports an optional app route through a 2.4 GHz router/internet path. A third included camera is not part of this set.

Can the Parent Unit guarantee eight hours of continuous screen-on use?

The guide lists a 5000 mAh battery but gives no continuous screen-on duration; an eight-hour hard minimum is therefore not verified.

The VTech RM5764-2HD is the two-camera version of VTech’s 5-inch RM5764 Wi-Fi video-monitor family. The difference is not just a spare camera in the box: its U.S. guide gives the twin configuration two viewing modes the one-camera RM5764HD does not have—split-screen video and a patrol view that changes cameras every ten seconds. It still includes one Parent Unit, so this is a choice for two camera positions viewed through one receiver, not a two-receiver system.

Two camera positions, with a useful choice of view

The exact twin package contains two Baby Units and one Parent Unit. In Split mode the screen shows both camera pictures at the same time. Patrol mode instead cycles between them every ten seconds, and Single mode shows one selected camera full-screen. These modes solve different problems: split is the documented choice when two rooms must remain visible together, while patrol makes one larger view available but is not the same as simultaneous viewing. The package does not include two parent screens.

The manual documents two live pictures in Split mode but does not establish that audio from both rooms is mixed or continuously audible at once. If hearing both spaces simultaneously is essential, keep that capability unknown rather than inferring it from the split picture. The matcher therefore treats the twin set as a documented two-view system, not a confirmed dual-audio system.

Local monitoring first; remote viewing is optional

As with the one-camera model, the Parent Unit and camera connect directly in Direct mode for local video without home Wi-Fi. That matters if the router is down or the monitor is being used in a home where app access is not wanted. The second operating route uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and MyVTech Baby Plus. VTech describes the router and internet connection as the path linking the camera and a mobile device for remote monitoring and camera control. App setup also involves an account and network pairing; this is not a required step for the local Parent Unit view.

VTech lists remote pan-and-tilt control, two-way talk, infrared night vision, temperature information and motion/temperature alerts. Its 5-inch IPS Parent Unit has a stated 1280 × 720 panel; the product listing separately promotes 1080p camera/app video. The camera can be reframed rather than moved by hand, but two cameras still need practical placement and power. The package’s second camera does not make either unit cordless.

Power, mounting and everyday limits

The shared U.S. family guide specifies a 3.7 V, 5,000 mAh lithium-ion battery inside the Parent Unit and warns that it is not user-replaceable. It does not promise a continuous screen-on runtime. Keep the receiver charged rather than treating its capacity as a verified all-night battery figure. Each camera needs its included adapter, so the two-room installation requires two suitable outlet locations. A loss of mains power at the camera locations interrupts the camera system even if the Parent Unit still has charge.

The listed view range is not a guaranteed through-wall distance. VTech says environmental conditions can change effective range, and the guide specifically notes that internal walls can weaken the direct link. Test the receiver from the place where it will be carried and confirm the remote app separately if you need it. For mounting, the manufacturer says not to place either Baby Unit inside a crib or playpen, not to install above 6.5 feet, and to keep each cord more than 3 feet from the child. Use the supplied mounting instructions and check the view after each camera is secured.

When this twin is the better fit

Choose the RM5764-2HD when the second camera and side-by-side view are real needs, not just attractive extras. It is especially useful when one adult wants a quick comparison of two fixed room positions on the same dedicated screen, with the option to switch to full-screen or patrol. It is not the right answer if the requirement is three or more installed camera views, two independent parent receivers, a confirmed two-room audio mix, or a specified eight-hour screen-on battery runtime.

The single-camera RM5764HD is the closer alternative if one room is enough; it keeps the remote movement and optional app path but omits the second-camera Split/Patrol modes. If you only want a local picture and can accept a smaller, fixed camera, the VM3254 avoids Wi-Fi setup and uses a 2.8-inch receiver. Compare exact camera count and operating modes, not just the common VTech name. As with any monitor, this is an aid to supervision, not a substitute for an adult’s care or a medical device.
