A useful fit for

A household wanting one included camera, a separate five-inch parent screen, optional away-from-home app viewing, a built-in camera battery and remote pan/tilt; especially relevant when the included charging stand and cot-mount set match the intended placement.

The main tradeoff

The E21 base box contains one camera, so it is not a two-room-at-once kit even though an extra camera can be paired and Eufy advertises split screen. Remote phone view needs the app/network; range and parent-screen battery runtime remain unknown or conflicting. It is not a phone-only setup.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Should the camera feed remain available on a dedicated screen when Wi-Fi is off?

The E21 manual says its camera and parent monitor connect directly without Wi-Fi; the live feed is then on the monitor. The app path is separate.

Do you need phone access away from home as well as the dedicated parent screen?

The E21 is a hybrid. The monitor is included, and app access requires connecting the camera to a 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network; remote viewing uses the internet path.

Is a camera-unit battery important if mains power at the camera is interrupted?

The manual says the camera has a built-in 5000mAh battery. Eufy estimates up to 9 hours in daytime conditions and 5.5 hours with night vision; those are camera claims, not parent-screen runtime.

Is an included cot-mount option and motorized view useful for the chosen room?

The exact E21 box lists a cot-mount set and its camera can pan 330 degrees and tilt 60 degrees. Follow the manual’s rail and child-reach warnings.

The eufy Baby Monitor E21 is a hybrid camera-and-screen kit: it can work as a local dedicated monitor without Wi-Fi, then add the eufy Baby app when the camera is connected to a home network. That distinction is practical. A parent can keep using the monitor’s direct link without an internet account, but phone viewing from away from home requires app setup, Wi-Fi and internet access. The E21 is not a phone-only camera, and it does not force every household into the same connection routine.

One camera, a 4K view and a five-inch receiver

The exact U.S. product page names the E21 and is currently listed for sale; its support record identifies camera model T8354. The user guide’s box list contains one camera, one monitor with charging stand, two power adapters, a mounting plate, camera and monitor cables, screws, and a cot-mount set. This is a one-camera package even though the system can be paired with a second camera. If two rooms must appear at once, the second camera is an additional purchase and must be included in the real setup; the base kit cannot meet that need by itself.

Eufy specifies a 4K camera with 330-degree pan, 60-degree tilt, 8× zoom and autofocus. The five-inch parent screen gives a separate viewing surface from a phone. A higher camera resolution and zoom are useful on paper when a household wants to adjust framing or check a small portion of the picture, but they are not independent measures of reception, night detail or app reliability. The manufacturer does not provide a numeric resolution for the parent display in the sources reviewed here, so 4K describes the camera feed, not the monitor panel.

Two real connection paths

The E21 camera and parent monitor pair directly out of the box. The manual states that live video is available on the monitor without Wi-Fi. In that local mode, the household can avoid home-network setup; remote phone viewing is unavailable. To use the app, set up the camera on the specified 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and keep the app/network path available. The camera has a Wi-Fi switch, so the manual documents a way to disable the network connection while retaining the direct monitor path. That is a meaningful hybrid tradeoff for people who want a dedicated screen and optional app access, rather than a guarantee that every feature works offline.

For the questionnaire, “dedicated screen without Wi-Fi” and “phone access away from home” are separate requirements. E21 has a plan for each: direct local monitoring for the first, and a networked app setup for the second. The included monitor also means the stricter phone-only option is not a match. Network quality and app notification delivery still depend on the household’s own router, internet service and setup; a manufacturer connection claim is not an independent security audit.

Camera battery, not a proven screen runtime

The camera includes a built-in 5,000mAh battery and may also be connected to its adapter. Eufy says to expect up to nine hours of wireless daytime operation or up to 5.5 hours at night with night vision enabled. These are manufacturer’s camera-use estimates under stated conditions, not a guarantee for the parent monitor or for every power outage. The user guide separately includes a procedure to replace the monitor battery but does not give a continuous screen-on runtime. Eufy marketing materials use different display-runtime language, including a 12-hour display image caption, so the parent-screen runtime remains unknown here rather than being reported as a firm minimum.

The manual says a microSD card is not included and supports up to 128GB. Eufy describes app-based recording and alert features, but recording depends on configuration and storage. Cry detection, loud-sound detection and temperature monitoring are documented; Eufy provides five sensitivity levels for sound detection. Those alerts can be useful prompts to check the room, but they are not medical measurements and do not replace adult supervision. Motion alerts are not documented for this exact model.

Mounting, sound and the actual tradeoff

The included cot-mount set and charging stand distinguish the E21 box from the older E20. The manual also covers wall and shelf placement and warns that a cot mount must be kept beyond a child’s reach and should not be used once a child begins trying to push up on hands and knees. Plan the mount and cord path before installation rather than relying on camera movement to compensate for unsafe placement. Eufy also advertises active noise reduction that reduces some background sound; do not interpret that as perfect filtering or a guarantee that every relevant sound will be transmitted.

The E21 is a sensible shortlist candidate when a household wants one included camera, a dedicated five-inch monitor, optional remote app viewing, a battery-powered camera and motorized framing. It is not a fit for an essential two-camera kit, a confirmed long monitor-screen battery minimum, or a guaranteed wireless range through a particular home. For two rooms, compare a package that actually includes two cameras and verifies simultaneous display and audio behavior. For local-only use, keep Wi-Fi off and test reception in the intended rooms; an advertised outdoor range is not an indoor promise.
